Duality
36”x36”x1.5”
Acrylic on canvas
“Duality” is a striking exploration of the tension between light and shadow, chaos and control, and the layered nature of human identity. The portrait is divided visually and emotionally: one side awash in vibrant neon pinks and soft pastels, the other submerged in deep blues and stark blacks. This contrast creates a powerful push and pull—an interplay of vulnerability and strength, exposure and concealment.
Bold, fragmented brushstrokes disrupt the face, echoing digital glitches and emotional fractures. Texture becomes a language of its own, with thick impasto areas revealing the raw energy of the artist’s hand. Despite the abstract distortions, the eyes remain steady and human, anchoring the composition with a sense of introspection.
“Duality” captures the complexity of being—how we exist as multiple selves at once, shaped by experience, memory, and the worlds we inhabit. The painting invites viewers to linger in the space between extremes, to feel the harmony and dissonance that coexist within every person.
*Shown with with black frame but painting is only framed on canvas
